SoCal Girl Goes to the MHF Gala

This weekend was the Michael Hoefflin Foundation's 21st Annual "Evening Under the Stars" Gala Dinner & Charity Auction. All the proceeds from the silent auction and from the tickets for the gala go towards helping pediatric cancer patients and their families as well as supporting pediatric cancer research. The foundation was established in 1994 by Michael Hoefflin's parents, friends, and family as a support center after he was diagnosed with brain cancer. Unfortunately, Michael succumbed to his brain tumor in 1996, but his memory inspired the continuation of the Foundation, which has grown over the years to help many families struggling with pediatric cancer.

This year's gala was held at the golf course on Robinson Ranch and it was an absolutely beautiful venue. The set-up for the event was towards the eighteenth hole on the golf course, and with the mini lake and majestic mountains, it created a stunning backdrop.

Our company is one of the platinum sponsors for the event every year, and many of the employees are attendees or volunteers at the event. This year, I was a project lead in helping organize our portion of the event, and so I ended up attending and volunteering at the event. It was so much fun, and all the proceeds went to such an amazing cause! I bartended for a bit (there was an open bar with beer and wine for all the patrons of the event) and then went around, enjoying the wonderful canapés and bidding on a few of the silent auction items.

Our interesting wine selection, a Zinfandel blend and a Chardonnay
All the wines and champagnes up for auction
